Summer Evening Engagement Session | Pine, CO
Nothing filled my heart quite like this summer evening with Maddy, Aedan, and their pup River!
I loooooove when couples choose their engagement session location around a place that is sentimental to them and their story -- for these two, it was Aedan's family cabin where they had spent summer after summer since high school spending so much time there together. These two have moved and lived all over the country ( North Carolina, Wyoming, Chicago, Durango – just to name a few ), but this just so happens to be their favorite place in the world!
Although we were in Pine, Maddy and Aedan had their truck packed up alllll ready to camp in Steamboat for the weekend after our session, which made for the perfect spontaneous backdrop to document their lifestyle and love for the outdoors.
River is their ultimate third wheel for all of their adventures. Several summers ago, Maddy had rescued him as a puppy from the side of the highway and since then, the three of them have been inseparable. Although River is the luckiest pup and lives the fullest life of adventure, he is unfortunately battling his way through cancer, which added an extra layer of sentiment to these moments. In almost every frame, you can see River tag along behind the two, subtly inseparable from the pair.
It was a classic Colorado summer evening among the pines, a touch of rain, and a river running nearby. We had the best time talking about their adventures together, the long distance they had conquered, and their plans and dreams for the future!! Now, their save the date hangs on our fridge and everyday I think about how I just can’t wait to meet these two back in Pine this summer for their wedding!
